East Staffordshire Borough Council, in partnership with the Environment Agency and other public and private sector partners, has launched a new shared Landscape Vision for the future of the Washlands.

On Monday 13th August, East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Cabinet approved the payment of a 20k grant to the YMCA in order to provide a winter night shelter for rough sleepers.

Private landlords are being alerted to forthcoming changes to the legislation covering houses in multiple-occupation (HMOs). Currently, HMOs only need a licence if they have five or more occupants, which make up two or more households and are three or more storeys high.

The Council’s Customer Service Centre in the Market Place, Burton upon Trent, is set to undergo a refurbishment after approval was granted at the Councils’ Cabinet meeting on Monday 13th August.
