Have your say on Council spending

East Staffordshire Borough Council is seeking residents’ views on how it should prioritise spending on services for the next year and beyond.

The Council is launching a budget consultation to help identify which services people consider to be the most important, what they would like to see protected and where, if necessary, they would prefer any additional income to come from.

Cllr Richard Grosvenor, Leader of the Council, said:

“The Borough Council has seen a 75% reduction in core cash funding from central government between 2010 and 2018, which represents a reduction of £6.1m. We need to consider how we prioritise spending for 2019/20 onwards to ensure that we continue to provide services that are value for money to residents. I would urge people to respond to this consultation as it will provide valuable feedback to inform the Council’s spending plans”.

The survey can be completed online via the Council’s website www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk . Paper copies are available upon request from the Customer Service Centres in Burton and Uttoxeter. The deadline for responses is 30th September 2018.
