East Staffordshire Borough Council looks to recruit permanent Town Deal Board Chair

Following the resignation of the previous Chair last October, the Council has been working with the Town Deal Board and its Vice-Chair, John McKiernan, to put in place an appropriate procedure to recruit a new permanent Town Deal Board Chair for the remainder of the Towns Fund programme period.

This begins with a competitive recruitment process, which is now open until Monday 26th February 2024 and can be accessed via the Council’s website or directly on WM Jobs.

Following receipt of applications, a Selection Panel from the Town Deal Board will shortlist applications before interviewing candidates during w/c 18th March 2024 and 25th March 2024, with a view to make a recommendation to the Town Deal Board on a preferred candidate at its meeting in April 2024.

Cllr Mick Fitzpatrick, Leader of the Council, said: “As the four projects in the Towns Fund programme continue being delivered, it is fundamentally important to have the right person Chairing the Town Deal Board and ensuring the right level of scrutiny, challenge and support is available to the programme as a critical friend. I very much look forward to interviewing interested candidate who feel they can add value to the Board.”

Applications can be submitted online through the advertisement and interested parties can also submit any questions they may have to the Council’s Head of Regeneration and Development at: thomas.deery@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk
