Council to Relaunch Place Brand to Promote Burton upon Trent

East Staffordshire Borough Council has today announced plans to relaunch a rejuvenated Burton upon Trent place brand to help promote the town to visitors, investors and residents.

The Burton upon Trent story, originally launched in March 2023, will encapsulate the passion and pride for the town through a collaborative approach, engaging a wide range of stakeholders from residents, community groups and charities, small businesses, local networks, sports clubs and major employers, to help create a revised narrative with the people of the town at its heart.

The new place brand will be more closely aligned to the Council’s approach to tourism, forming a cohesive and collective effort to remind everyone how much East Staffordshire and Burton upon Trent has to offer, whilst making those already here, feel excited and proud to be part of our great town.

The project will see the appointment of a local steering group to help drive the project forward, along with a local creative agency to help bring the place brand to life, ready for a launch in 2024.

Cllr Paul Walker, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said: “We’re wholly committed to the principles of the Burton upon Trent story and are keen to see this work driven forward for the betterment of the town. The Council would like to take this opportunity to thank all the residents, stakeholders and contributors to the original place brand for their involvement and hard work.”
