Brewhouse Arts Centre Announces Autumn Season

The Brewhouse in Burton upon Trent has announced an exciting autumn season of live theatre, music, comedy and workshops.

The season sees a packed line up of performances and activities for residents and visitors to enjoy, including the venues biggest ever festive show, with 14 showings of the original family show ‘Christmas Toyshop Mystery’.

The family fun doesn’t end there, as the musical theatre adaptation of Lizzy Stewart’s award-winning children’s book ‘There’s a Tiger in the Garden’ plays on Sunday 15th October, ahead of October Half Term which see’s Little Angel Theatre bring Miniature Travelling Circus to the Union Street venue.

Music fans are also in for a treat as multi award winning folk duo Ninebarrow play on Friday 22nd September, ahead of a gig by Martin Simpson, widely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world, on Saturday 21st October.

The autumn season also sees a special performance by Riding The Low on Friday 3rd November, who will kick off a month of live music gigs in November as part of the Burton Music Collective initiative, supported by the venue to help revitalise the local live music scene.

Comedy also returns with Humberside Police Officer turned comedian and radio presenter, Alfie Moore, who brings his UK tour ‘A Face For Radio’ to The Brewhouse on Thursday 16th November. 

The Brewhouse will also welcome back an extensive range of local amateur performances, including: The Mellow Dramatics presenting their latest show, The Sound of Music and Little Theatre Company with the classic show Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Cllr Paul Walker, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said: “From theatre and comedy to live music, The Brewhouse Arts Centre has something for everyone this autumn. Over the next few months, the Union Street venue will see a wide range of shows and performances, offering something for all the family.”
