Volunteers wanted to help plant trees

East Staffordshire Borough Council is planting over 2000 trees on our parks and open spaces across the borough and is looking for volunteers to help.

The Horticultural team at the Council will be planting a mixture of standard and whip trees throughout the winter months as part of our Friends of Renewing East Staffordshire’s Trees project. Planting trees is an important part of the Council’s policy to improve the environment and reduce its carbon footprint.

Councillor Bev Ashcroft, Deputy Leader for Leisure, Amenities and Tourism, said: “Planting trees is an integral part of improving our parks and open spaces which are such vital places for local communities and have proven to be of great importance to many people throughout the pandemic.”
