Have your say on Uttoxeter’s Future

The current Masterplan for Uttoxeter is now over 17 years old. It has successfully helped to guide development and investment in and around the town centre throughout this period, but is now in need of renewal.

East Staffordshire Borough Council and Staffordshire County Council have commissioned consultants Cushman and Wakefield to support in the production of the new Masterplan for Uttoxeter.

The Cushman & Wakefield team, supported by Lathams (Urban Design) and FORE (Transport Infrastructure), has extensive experience of working creatively and collaboratively with local authorities and other public sector authorities and partnerships, landowners, businesses and community interest groups, to create deliverable visions for towns.

As part of the process of renewing the Masterplan it is critical that East Staffordshire Borough Council and Staffordshire County Council understand the concerns and aspirations of those who live in, work in and use Uttoxeter. As such a public consultation process has now started and will run until the 30th September 2020.

Cllr George Allen, Deputy Leader for Regeneration and Planning Policy said: “Towns and Cities across the country are facing huge challenges, none more so than now given the current issues impacting the Country. We are pleased that we have been able to work with the County Council to consider options for the future of Uttoxeter and now we want you to have your say. Your views matter, as the 2020 Masterplan will help to shape the future of Uttoxeter for the next decade”.

You can view the consultation documents and provide responses online at the East Staffordshire Borough Council Consultation Platform, which can be found at: www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk/burton-town-regeneration-programme/regeneration/uttoxeter-masterplan

This Masterplan is another part of the East Staffordshire Regeneration Programme to create a vibrant and attractive Borough which will have a unique place in the County’s economy and be well placed to adapt to opportunities in the future.
