Uttoxeter Residents Encouraged to ‘Go Garden’

Uttoxeter residents are being encouraged to Go Garden in 2018, as East Staffordshire Borough Council aims to build on the success of the gardening project located at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre.

Following the launch of the project, two Poly tunnels have been installed as well as outside raised planters and wild flower planting.

A group of volunteers are frequently attending the site to grow produce which will be used for local people to try and learn about healthy eating. The group is also growing floral plants which will be used to support Uttoxeter in Bloom.

With spring fast approaching, East Staffordshire Borough Council is looking to recruit additional volunteers to join the small team who meet every Wednesday at 10am at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre.

Volunteering to garden is a great way to get more active, in a relaxed, social environment. For more information about the project and for details on how to take part, contact Paul Steed at paul.steed@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk or on 07966 342 198.
