Uttoxeter Masterplan Further Consultation
The Uttoxeter Masterplan Further Consultation has now closed and a report detailing the findings has been created by URBED, the consultant organisation who worked with the Council on the consultation over the summer.

The report confirms the outcome of the consultation exercise, which asked residents questions about the strengths/weaknesses of the town, whether the themes identified in the Masterplan were correct, things to prioritise when regenerating any of the priority sites, and other general questions about the town.
The findings of the consultation identifies the principles that are most important to residents of the town for each of the priority sites suggested by the Masterplan. For example, 76% of respondents said that retaining parking by the GP surgery at Trinity Square Shopping Centre was important whereas only 28% suggested that introducing a stronger frontage along Bradley Street at the Maltings was important. This information will be used to inform the next steps for regenerating Uttoxeter, including the undertaking of further investigations and the creation of more detailed plans for areas in the town, which would be further consulted upon at the time.
The immediate next steps include creating a project plan that will identify which sites ESBC will need to become involved with and at what level. As well as this, the Council will be working with Staffordshire County Council on the creation of a bus, parking and cycling strategy, which will inform the transport needs of the town for each of these themes. Alongside these longer term pieces of work, the Council will look into how it can facilitate smaller, incremental enhancements of the town to improve the look and feal of the town centre. For example, the Council has recently reached an agreement with the owner of the Maltings precinct whereby the Council has been able to install new planters and seating along the Maltings precinct to enhance it as a gateway to the High Street.
