A message from the Mayor of East Staffordshire
It is my honour and privilege to accept the post of 31st Mayor of East Staffordshire. I am blessed to have a caring and supportive family that understands my passion and supports me. I moved from Liverpool, Merseyside to Burton in 2004. My Parents passed away. I am happily married to the Mayoress, Forjea Khan, and we were married in the Town Hall 19 years ago. Father of Fawaz, Faizan and Izaan and my sons are the most amazing things that have happened to my life.
As a tradition I have chosen the following as my nominated charities:

Mainly they are benefitting East Staffordshire by their work in the field of mental health, disability inclusion and community development. I am an Honorary Consultant in a Local Law Solicitor firm. LL.B (Law Honours) Derby University, Legal Practice Course (Regulated By Solicitor Regulation Authority).LL.M (Masters of Law); Derby University, BSS (Honours) Public Administration I am a County Councillor and Deputy Leader of the opposition, Staffordshire County Council. Representing Stapenhill and Anglesey.
Borough Councillor and Chairman of the Licensing Committee: I am always working to raise awareness about a variety of topics including female empowerment, women’s university education programs and actions against forced marriages and domestic violence to name a few. Finally I enjoy reading, cricket and I do like to listen to debates and speeches.
