The Mayor of East Staffordshire, Cllr Syed Hussain, flew the Commonwealth National Flag at Burton Town Hall on Monday 11th March at 11:00am to mark Commonwealth Day 2024.
Commonwealth Day, marks eleven years since the signing of the Commonwealth Charter, which was signed by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 11th March 2013.
Cllr Syed Hussain, Mayor of East Staffordshire, said: “With 56 countries around the world celebrating Commonwealth Day, it is a true privilege to do our part in spreading the important message around forging a sustainable and peaceful common future. This day reminds us just how important it is to secure a better future for our young people, promoting peace, prosperity and sustainability.”
