Burton to Host Wide Range of Festive Events

Residents and visitors to Burton upon Trent are in for a treat this Christmas as East Staffordshire Borough Council has announced a host of festive activities and events, supported by Everyone Active and Pyrotex Fireworx.

The programme kicks off on Sunday 26th of November with the return of the annual Christmas lights switch on in Burton Market Place. The celebrations will start from 1pm with family entertainment on the main stage, funfair and food and drink stalls. Visitors can then enjoy the lights switch on and fireworks at 5pm.

Shoppers and foodies alike will find something waiting for them in Burton Market Hall and Place this season, which welcomes a series of events including Burtons First Christmas Vegan market by Rainbow Monkey Events, a Christmas Food Festival and Grub Club by Cockerhoop Creative, plus the ever popular Craft Market.

The Brewhouse Arts Centre will also host a wide range of festive performances, including the majestic sounds of the Winter Union Concert, whose soaring harmonies and exquisite musicianship will get you in the Christmas spirit. The Brewhouse will also host The Christmas Toy Shop Mystery, 16th to the 23rd of December, a beautiful children’s show that takes you on a heartfelt adventure exploring the magic of lost and found.

Cllr Paul Walker, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said: “Residents and visitors to the Borough will be spoilt for choice this Christmas, as Burton upon Trent welcomes yet another year of exciting festive shows and activities.
