Bumper programme of events at the Brewhouse this spring

In preparation for the spring the Brewhouse is launching its bumper programme of events including an all new monthly Burton comedy club evening. Surely, a huge treat for fans of Music, Theatre and Comedy.

Councillor Bernard Peters, Deputy Leader for Community and Regulatory Services, said: “There will an explosion of events at the Brewhouse to kick start 2022. Once again this is a fantastic opportunity to see live music, theatre and comedy locally and I actively encourage residents, and visitors, to come along to discover what the Brewhouse as to offer and be assured measures will be in place for your safety and any exposure to Omicron virus.”

Starting, from Saturday 29th January, with the visit of Taskmaster survivor, No More Jockeys leader and multi award winning comedian, Mark Watson, who is visiting the Burton upon Trent venue with his UK tour, This Can’t Be It.

And the laughter does not stop there as February see’s, Britain’s Got Talent star and BBC Radio 4’s Citizen of Nowhere, Daliso Chaponda play at the Brewhouse for the first time on Saturday 12th February.

A week long Panto, perfect for families, will also be taking place during February Half Term, as Burton Amateur Stage Entertainers bring Aladdin to the Brewhouse stage from the 22nd to the 26th.

Friday 4th March see’s the first in a season long programme of mixed bill comedy events, as one of the UK’s leading Comedy Clubs, Just the Tonic, brings Gavin Webster, Aideen McQueen, Alun Cochrane and Tom Widdlesworth to Burton upon Trent.

As a packed March continues, the Brewhouse, will see numerous standout events, including, Fleetwood Mac Songbook, These Hills Are Ours by ARC Stockton, Keith James in Concert, LDN Wrestling, rounded off with the return of the annual Performing Art’s Festival on Wednesday 30th March.

Just the Tonic Comedy Club are back at the Brewhouse on Friday 1st April with another mixed bill comedy evening, and just a week later music fans can enjoy Through the Decades with Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly Tribute on Friday 8th April.

The Easter Holiday’s see’s the arrival of a comedy club with a difference, as The Comedy Club 4 Kid’s follow up their sell out gig at The Roundabout on Sunday 10th April, before the musical adaption of the much loved Julia Donaldson book The Smartest Giant in Town hit’s the Brewhouse stage for a total of six performances from the 10th to the 13th April.

The brilliant, Little Theatre Company, will keep family audiences entertained with The Hunchback of Notre Dame from the 19th to the 23rd April, before music fans can enjoy the blended traditional instruments and folk melodies of the India Electric Company on the 26th April.
