Grant Scheme Launches in Tutbury

East Staffordshire Borough Council is excited to launch a new Grant Scheme derived from Section 106 monies for the parish of Tutbury which will see the area benefit from £250,000.00.

The monies supporting the scheme has stemmed from a large local housing development within the Tutbury area and it has been used to form a Community Grant Scheme.  This scheme aims to benefit community based projects within the vicinity and can be used by local community and voluntary groups looking to fund a local project.  It is a great added valued contribution in supporting a local area.

Councillor George Allen, Deputy Leader for Regeneration and Planning Policy said: “This is a great opportunity for local community groups and voluntary organisations of Tutbury to improve their community and it shows how new housing developments can benefit existing residents.  This money will make a difference to the area to support new and existing schemes.

I was very happy to ask Borough Councillor Gaskin and Councillor Raybould, County Councillor White and the chair of Tutbury Parish, Councillor Lock to join the Tutbury Grant Scheme panel who will consider community applications.

We look forward to seeing what projects are put forward through the bidding process.”

Applications open on Monday 2nd November 2020 and will close on Friday 16th December 2020.

Full details of the Grant Scheme application process will be available, from 2nd November, on the website www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk or you can email S106@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk
