Bin Collection Dates changing for some properties

Some residents in the Borough will experience a change to their waste collection day from Monday 5th March when East Staffordshire Borough Council rolls out its updated service.

In recent years, housing growth across the Borough has placed an increasing pressure on the service and to ensure that we continue to make the best use of our resources, the Council has carried out a comprehensive review of its waste collection routes.

Over the past few weeks, residents should have received a new collection calendar advising them as to whether their collection day will change and they should check the details to ensure that they do not miss out on their regular collections.

It is important to recognise that the Council is not changing the frequency of collections and the majority of residents will still have their residual waste (grey bin) collected one week and their garden waste (brown bin), dry recycling (blue bin) and paper (blue bag) collected the following week.

Councillor David Leese, Deputy Leader for Environment, said: “The Council recognises how important waste collection is to our residents and has invested additional funding to provide more vehicles. These will help to address the demand from new housing and ensure that our service continues to be reliable and cost-effective. Our vehicles will be following new routes to keep fuel costs down and to maintain an efficient service.”
