Community Regeneration Fund

This week we have introduced a new grant scheme designed to help deliver regeneration projects that help improve local areas. Local groups and organisations from all over the borough are now able to submit bids to the Community Regeneration Fund, a new 12 month long scheme to support the ongoing regeneration of the Borough.

Some examples of the types of projects that could be funded are listed below:
•    Community gardens
•    Community woodlands
•    Public art
•    Sport and recreation spaces

Successful applicants will receive grants between £1,000 - £16,000 for their projects and it offers local groups the chance to contribute to the ongoing regeneration of the Borough. Local community groups, charities and social enterprises are all eligible for the scheme. Businesses that operate for profit are not generally eligible, however, if the project can clearly show public benefit then these applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
Grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis, so we urge organisations who are considering applying to submit their application as soon as they can. The scheme will run for 12 months or until the funds are fully allocated, whichever comes sooner.

The current longstanding grant scheme called Councillors Community Fund (CCF) has also recently been changed which now enables successful applicants to receive up to £2,000 per Councillor, with an upper limit of £6,000

These grant schemes both support our Boroughs communities during a difficult time and I hope community groups take the opportunity to receive some much needed cash.
