Earlier this week the Queen’s Baton Relay visited Uttoxeter, starting at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre and continuing on through Bramshall Road Park before moving on to St George’s Park. Even an early start of 8am didn’t deter crowds of people from wanting to support the inspirational Batonbearers to complete their leg of the Relay. It was great to welcome the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay to Uttoxeter and I’m sure members of the Dove Valley Swimming Club enjoyed the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Baton.
The Relay is sure to inspire people of all ages to be active and get involved in sports and to enjoy watching the upcoming Commonwealth Games. I would like to thank all those involved for making this a day to remember, and I wish the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay the best of luck on the last leg of its journey!
