On Monday 25th November 2024 East Staffordshire Borough Council held a partnership event with Trent & Dove Housing to raise awareness of the White Ribbon campaign.
The event was attended by the Mayor - Cllr Shelagh McKiernan, alongside guest speakers, Cllr Simon Slater – Cabinet for Communities, Cllr Paul Walker – White Ribbon Steering group member, and Kyle Smith – Head of Communications at Trent & Dove, who shared insights on how as partners we are working together on challenging harmful behaviours and to raise awareness of violence against women & girls.
This awareness day highlights our longstanding commitment to help end violence against women and the wider community to work towards a nation where everyone feels safe and respected.
The day inspired individuals and organisations to take positive action to challenge harmful cultures and behaviours that lead to violence against women and girls.
East Staffordshire Borough Council team members alongside Trent & Dove, were also available to answer any questions and provide information about how we can affect positive behaviour changes to transform harmful cultures.
Cllr Slater, Cabinet member for Communities “The event showed great commitment and support for how we can challenge harmful attitudes and behaviours, as we work towards creating an inclusive community where everyone feels safe and valued."
