Business Springboard Boost

The Council has launched a scheme to support investment in business start-up and growth. Please note the funding is now almost fully allocated. Please ensure that you submit your application and supporting documentation in early in order to be considered.

The new ESBC Business Springboard Boost scheme is aimed at new and existing small and medium sized businesses located in East Staffordshire that are wishing to grow and expand their business.

The scheme is also aimed at local entrepreneurs who need some financial support to make their business idea a reality.

The fund is now open for business and is competitive on a first come first served basis and will be kept open until the available funding is fully allocated.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for support, the business must comply with the scheme’s entry criteria outlined in the scheme's guidance notes.

What can I apply for?

Existing businesses can apply for up to £10,000 with up to 60% match funding.

For eligible new start-up companies that have been trading for less than twelve months, a slightly lower maximum grant of up to £5,000 is available, although a grant rate of up to 60% is still available.

How match funding works

A project totalling £2,000 can potentially be awarded a grant of up to £1,200 (60%) with the applicant making up the gap (the ‘match’ which in this case will be £800).

How can I apply?

Applicants can apply using one the relevant online form:

Please ensure that you have read the guidance and are clear you are eligible for the scheme before completing the application form.

The current round closes on Monday 15 November and businesses that are eligible and have submitted all relevant documentation will be invited to take part in a panel meeting on Thursday 2nd December. New businesses may not be required to present at the meeting but their application will still be assessed by the panel.

Please note we take a maximum of 4 applications to the panel meetings. We put through applications strictly of a first come first served bases. Busineses that have submitted the application plus all supporting evidence will be given priority. We therefore urge businesses who are considering applying to submit their application plus supporting documents as soon as they can.

Is this a COVID-19 Grant?

This is not related to Covid grants and your businesses will not automatically be awarded funding. This scheme is about growing businesses to help stimulate the local economy.
