The venue

Here at Burton Town Hall we understand that everyone’s requirements are different so we provide a choice of rooms for your ceremony. The Town Hall is licensed to hold ceremonies in one of its two Victorian Ceremonial rooms. Whilst we provide the Venue we ask that you engage a registrar to carry out the Ceremony. We recommend that you contact the local registrar as soon as you have confirmed a date with us. You will have exclusive use of the Mayoral Suite during your time with us allowing you to exploit photo opportunities with our red carpet laid out to welcome you to the building.

Mayor's Dining Room

This room is typically used for Pre-Ceremonial Interviews. You decide whether you would like to be interviewed together or separately prior to the Wedding Ceremony. The interview will usually take approximately 5 minutes.

The Council Chamber

Our Council Chamber is reached via the grand Mayoral Staircase, which in itself provides a unique photo opportunity, offering a gorgeous setting for the most important part your day. You can take your vows while the sun streams through the Victorian Stained glass windows. The Chamber has a capacity of 80 and is the most popular Ceremony room with our clients.

The Muniments Room

This room is a wonderful alternative to the Council Chamber, with a Capacity of 20. You can take your vows in this beautiful wood panelled room, adorned with the town’s historic silverware.

Within the Mayoral Suite we have three artificial floral displays which are available for use, however you are welcome to bring your own flowers which perhaps compliment your colour scheme. We would usually ask you to prepare a CD of four tracks which you would like played during your Ceremony at poignant intervals, our team will discuss this with you.

Our Mayoral Suite also has disabled access.

Function Rooms

Within our Function Suite we have a variety of rooms available for hire, along with a full Catering Kitchen and Bar area.

The Dove Room

The Dove Room is ideal for your wedding breakfast as the kitchen is situated just across the hall, allowing easy access for food and drinks. With a capacity of 80 – 100 and with a glass panelled ceiling, allowing the light to flood through, this room is very popular with many of our couples. If you would like to host a champagne Reception with light background music, whilst your photos are being taken, the Dove Room lends itself well to this also.

The Main Hall

Our historic Main Hall is a fabulous setting for an evening Reception. Steeped in Victorian Character it never fails to impress and is incredibly versatile, it can be adapted to whatever you have in mind.

The room is large enough to seat up to 200 - 250 guests with a dance floor and room for your entertainment. The acoustics are fantastic for live and recorded music and the lighting can be adapted for both your meal and party.

The Main Hall is adjacent to the Trent Bar and kitchen making the room suitable for whatever you have in mind.

The Lingen Room

This room is a wonderful alternative to the Dove Room, with the same capacity just a different shape and feel. The wooden panelled Lingen Room has a Medieval feel with traditional décor and lots of natural light flooding in from the tall windows.

The Green Room

This is our smaller room which can be adapted for use as a cloakroom, a place to store wedding gifts, or as a quiet place for a Bride and Groom taking 5 minutes together during a busy Wedding day.

Trent Bar/Kitchen

The Trent Bar is an attractive, comfortable Lounge Bar adjacent to the Main Hall which is staffed by our in-house bar staff. Our full catering kitchen is fully equipped with ovens refrigeration units, freezer, hot cupboards and a dishwasher. The kitchen can be hired for self catering use as well as use by a professional catering service.
