Play area and Skate Park

Skate Park

Burton-on-Trent skatepark at Shobnall Leisure Complex was designed and built by Freestyle and opened in 2010. It is an all concrete course that is mainly transitions focused with some street elements mixed in.

On one side of the skatepark is a rectangular bowl with metal coping, an extension and a flat bank opposite it. Next to this is a kidney bowl without coping and spined with the other bowl and also has an extension around one corner. Behind these is where the rest of the skatepark starts, on one side with a hipped bank and running up the opposite side is a flat bank with an extension and on top of this bank is a ledge. On the opposite corner to this is a taco with metal coping.

The surfaces are smooth and fast and it is a great place for both beginners and experienced skaters alike, the skatepark is open all year round and is free for public use.

Play Area

In addition to the sports activities, there is a large children’s play area. Set in a large area of attractive parkland the area is ideal for picnics and walks, with the more adventurous being able to walk along the canal towpaths and country lanes which radiate from Shobnall.
