 Cycle Season

Cycling

Now that the weather is getting better – why don’t you get your bike out of the shed, pump up the tyres and go for a ride.

There are many cycle routes in East Staffordshire and these can be located on the Staffordshire County Council website.

http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/transport/walkingandcycling/maps

Also, why not try cycling to work instead of driving, you will save money, get fit and do your bit for the environment.

Remember to keep safe when cycling

  • Wear a helmet and keep alert
  • Exercise due care and attention at all times, and obey the Highway Code, including all traffic signs and traffic signals
Places you can cycle ...

  • Canal towpaths, however a Waterways Permit is required. It's free, www.waterscape.com
  • Cycle tracks and bus lanes, if the lane signs include a cycle symbol
Places you can’t cycle ...
  • On a pavement or a footpath unless there is a right to do so.
  • On open land without the permission of the landowner Information taken from the County Council Website and the Waterways Code
