Anglesey Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

The Anglesey Neighbourhood Plan was independently examined earlier this year and the Examiner recommended that, subject to some modifications, the Plan should proceed to Referendum.  The Borough Council agrees with the Examiner’s report and agreed to progress the Plan to Referendum via an executive Decision on 2nd June 2016.

The Referendum takes place on Thursday 21st July. In Anglesey parish the polling stations are Queen Street Community Centre and Unity Hall. Submission Version of the Neighbourhood Plan Consultation

Under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Anglesey Parish Council has submitted its draft Neighbourhood Development Plan (Neighbourhood Plan) to East Staffordshire Borough Council.  In accordance with Regulation 16, the Borough Council would like to invite comments from organisations and individuals on the submitted Neighbourhood Plan.  The consultation period lasts 6 weeks and runs from Monday 18th January 2016 to Monday 29th February 2016.

Anglesey Parish Council undertook consultation on an earlier draft of their Plan between 3rd June and 13th July 2015. Comments made to the Parish Council from this consultation helped inform changes to the document now submitted to East Staffordshire Borough Council. The Neighbourhood Plan, written by a group made up of members from the community and from Anglesey Parish Council, proposes a number of policies on community facilities, employment and housing, environment and green space, and on Key Sites.

The Neighbourhood Development Plan is split into four main documents:

It is the responsibility of the Borough Council to collate all the representations and pass them on to an independent examiner, who will look at them and the Plan documents when assessing whether the plan meets the legislation and can therefore proceed to referendum.

Comments can be made by filling in the representation form and emailing it to the Neighbourhood Planning Team: neighbourhoodplanning@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk

or by post to Neighbourhood Planning, Planning Policy Team, East Staffordshire Borough Council, PO Box 8045, Burton upon Trent, DE14 9LG
