Summer Holiday Activities Taking Place Across East Staffordshire

East Staffordshire Borough Council is rolling out its popular half term activities again this summer. Venues across the borough will be keeping children and their families busy from Monday 24th July to Sunday 3rd September by hosting a mixture of sporting, craft, theatre and swimming activities.

DASH (discover activities in the school holidays) was launched in 2013 and continues to be a popular programme of events, taking place when children are off school. This summer is set to be bigger than ever with over a hundred activities taking place.

The programme will be delivered at Shobnall Leisure Complex, Meadowside and Uttoxeter Leisure Centres, the Brewhouse Arts Centre, Burton Market and at various other venues throughout East Staffordshire.

Activities presented include multi-sports activity days, Sport in the Hood initiatives, Gymnastics tasters and special swimming sessions. There will also be plenty of crafting, theatre and music taking place at the Brewhouse.

Just as in 2016, DASH is partnering with the Police Crime Commissioner’s SPACE programme, an initiative to increase young people’s skills, improve their health and wellbeing and make communities safer. Several activities taking place throughout the holidays have been funded by Space 2016 and more details can be found at www.staffordshirespace.uk.

For the first time ever, a brand new DASH Pass will also available for purchase. The pass, costing £95 per child, will allow the holder access to all of the DASH activities taking place over the Summer holidays.

Full details of all events and activities taking place during half term are available to download from www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk/holiday-activities. DASH brochures are also available from any partaking venues.
