Playday 2017 is moving to the Meadowside Leisure Centre

East Staffordshire Borough Council is once again providing an opportunity for all children, and their families to participate in the annual Playday. This year the event has moved from Shobnall Leisure Complex to the Meadowside Leisure Centre. The Playday will take place on Wednesday 2nd August 2017, between 12.00noon and 3.00pm. The activities will take place outdoors and indoors, so you will be able to have a wonderful experience whatever the weather conditions.

East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Sport Development Team will be organising a variety of fun and engaging activities, and all of these activities are provide FREE!

The activities on offer include bouncy castles, dance performances, face painting both for adults and children to enjoy, Circus skills and balloon modelling, Magic performances, fun story times as well as a reading challenge, a teddy bears hospital, UpBeat, coral reef soft play and lots of arts and craft activities, You can also have a “Fire Engine tour” with the Staffordshire Fire Service. The Meadowside’s River café will also be providing a unique menu especially for Playday including food, snacks and drinks.

Councillor Colin Whittaker, Deputy Leader for Cultural Services said: “Play is essential for physical and emotional growth, for mental, intellectual and educational development, and for acquiring social and behavioural skills. Playday offers an opportunity for the whole family to get out and play during the school holidays. With such a great variety of fantastic activities you are guaranteed to have wonderful experience”.
