ESBC consults residents on East Staffordshire open spaces

East Staffordshire Borough Council is seeking to gather opinions on open spaces in East Staffordshire. The Council would like to know people’s thoughts on their quality, accessibility, how often they are used and what improvements could be made.

The consultation is part of the Council’s wider commitment to promote and encourage health and wellbeing in East Staffordshire. Alongside the survey, the Council is carrying out an audit of sport pitches and recreation spaces across the borough.

The results will be used to update the Council’s Open Space and Playing Pitch Strategy which will identify current supply and demand issues for sports and recreation facilities in East Staffordshire, based on quality, quantity and accessibility.

Councillor Jacqui Jones, Deputy Leader for Planning, said: “This a great opportunity for residents to help shape the next Open Space and Playing Pitch Strategy. The Strategy will outline the Council’s vision for the provision and improvement of our open spaces and playing areas in East Staffordshire.”
