Council Joins in With The Great British Spring Clean

On the 12th April 2017 East Staffordshire Borough Council and partner organisations came together to support the “Great British Spring Clean” by hosting a litter pick at the Branston gateways to Burton upon Trent.

Volunteers including staff from McDonalds, members of the Rotary Club, the Burton Conservation Society, the Burton Civic Society and the Burton Ahmadiyya Muslim Community all turned up to help clear litter from the main roads around the Parkway, Wellington Road and Clays Lane areas.

East Staffs Community & Civil Enforcement Officers, who organised the event, reported that around 40 bags of rubbish, a carpet, some wire fencing, wooden posts, estate agent signs and an old patio heater were amongst debris collected.

The organisers would also like to thank all of the people and organisations that were involved in the day, and Greggs and McDonalds for providing refreshments to the volunteers.
