Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself to you all. My name is Deb and I am an East Staffordshire Borough Council Community and Civil Enforcement Officer. I work on a part time basis covering Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays.
My role is to tackle a number of issues such as dog fouling, littering, domestic bins left out on the street, correct recycling procedures, the reporting of fly posting and fly tipping, not to mention parking and highways issues, to name but a few. I am authorised to issue Fixed Penalty Notices for £75 for dog fouling and littering offences and will represent East Staffordshire Borough council at court, along with the rest of the team, should prosecutions be taken forward. The role combines a two pronged approach covering both education and enforcement.
Community and Civil Enforcement Officers work in conjunction with a variety of other agencies including: Police, PCSOs, Fire & Rescue Service, borough & parish councillors, neighbourhood working groups, schools, community groups, businesses and residents alike. We are the ‘eyes and ears of the borough council’ and together we aim to make a difference.
You may have already seen our team on patrol. We wear a uniform of distinctive green/black tops and black trousers and are generally to be found out and about in the community finding out what the local issues are and aiming to resolve them. If there are any community/environmental concerns that you wish to make me aware of, then please feel free to approach me and I will endeavour to do my best to assist.
Alternatively, I am contactable using the details below.
