What I have been up to.

Shobnall Monitoring The Link

There have been various problems on The Link from vandalism, drinking, ASB, destruction of play equipment and litter strewn across the park.

I am monitoring the park on regular basis and recording my findings with a view to ascertaining if CCTV will help catching vandals etc.

I have carried out further patrols of the Streets of Shobnall with ESBC Councillor Ganley.

I am also monitoring the alley leading from Shobnall street onto Shobnall Park for people who walk their dogs, let them foul and don't clean it up.  This is with the intent of issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN)to them for £75.

There have been reports of dogs not on leads on Shobnall Park and out of control.  So i am monitoring this with the intent of reminding people that if the dog is not on lead and out of control they could be issued with a FPN.

I am visiting the shops along Waterloo Street and give out No Excuses posters to all those who will display them.

Monitoring Bins On Streets

Horninglow

The fence behind the houses of Hornbrook Close to prevent people getting into the Brooke is still being reviewed by Staffordshire County Council and East Staffordshire Borough Council to ascertain who owns the fence and subsequently repair it.

County Councillor Staples and i have made a further visit to speak to the original complainant of this issue.

I am monitoring the drinkers who are congregating and sitting on or around the bench at Horninglow Basin drinking in numbers and being abusive.

I am monitoring Carver Road Park for dog fouling and vandalism.

Anglesey Anglesey Litter Enforcement Initiative:

Another initiative took place on the evening of the 14 of October, this time the target area was the shops on Branston Road, Wood Court and Uxbridge Street shops.   This was a patrol with PCSO Fellows & ESBC Councillor Ali Chaudhry.

We were able to move on drinkers from Queen Street which is in the Alcohol Exclusion area.

1 FPN for littering was issued.

We spoke to many residents and shopkeepers.

A further evening of litter enforcement is planned for 26th October 2011 to issue £75 FPNs for littering.

Queen Street Sub Station - Drinkers Congregating & ASB

With this area being a regular congregation area for drinkers due to the low wall making it a convenient to sit on, it has been ongoing problem and concern for the neighbours.

Working with Western Power Distribution Remedial Works Process Support, i have worked over some months to get an agreement from them to help to prevent this from happening.  It will also help deter the drinkers from using this as a gathering place even though it is in the Alcohol Exclusion area.

We have come up with a great solution and Western Power have been very supportive and the proposal we are now working on is:

  • Take down and remove the low red brick wall bordering the entrance to Webb Ivory and the wall and gate on the front with higher palisade fencing.

Contractors have made site visits and are costing up the job at present.
