The Sports Development Team work in partnership with individuals, Sports Clubs and other community groups in order to increase opportunities for people to take part and for those who have the interest and ability, to reach their full potential in a range of sports and activities. The team is based at Shobnall Leisure Complex and have a wealth of information on sports coaching, sports clubs, external funding opportunities and an information database.
Our aim is to work in partnership with individuals and agencies to provide quality sport and health related activities for the people of East Staffordshire, and for the people who have the ability and commitment, help them reach their potential in their chosen activity.
In pursuing this aim, we intend to give all people equal opportunities regardless of their age, gender, background and ability.
To help us achieve this aim we work in partnership with local sports clubs, community groups, members of the public and other professional agencies so that we can provide a quality service based on local sporting and physical activity needs.
Sport England have carried out an external assessment of our team, and we have been given the quality award ‘QUEST’ Excellence for Sports Development.
