 Funding

East Staffordshire Sports Scholarship Awards

Each year East Staffordshire Borough Council award elite sports performers and coaches, with Sports Grants to assist sportsmen, women and young people in their efforts to achieve full National, International  and Olympic Honours.

The Sport Scholarship Awards are awarded at two levels, International  Achievement, and Regional/Development Award. The International Achievement Award is awarded to athletes who have achieved international honours, or attended international competitions, recognised by Sport England.

Golfer

The Regional Development Award is awarded to those who have shown signs of significant improvement in performance at regional level or above or achieved top place finishes in National competitions.

 

Alongside the Scholarship Awards there is a number of awards that recognise the achievements of individuals, who have shown dedication, or excelled in Runnertheir chosen sport as a volunteer, coach or work behind the scenes to help a sports club run smoothly.

All applications are to be received before 4th January 2010

Funding

Funding and how to get it is a big issue in modern sport.

Sport East Staffs is committed to helping all local sports providers in trying to access the funding they require to run individual schemes and initiatives. The opportunities and sources of funding available at every level are extensive and lucrative, however the problems arise when organisations don’t know where or how to obtain funding.

Sport East Staffs can provide a first port of call to any local organisations seeking funding and provide advice and support during the application phase.

Each year Sport East Staffs produces a sources of funding booklet that is designed to help organisations in accessing funding, to obtain a copy of the booklet or seek further information contact any member of the sports development team who will be happy to help
