A Personal Search is a search of the Local Land Charges Register (LLC) in accordance with the LLC Act 1975 and the LLC Rules 1977 (as amended).
From the 18th August 2010 you can inspect the LLC Register free of charge due to the statutory fee of £22.00 was revoked under Statutory Instructment 1812/2010. This is a temporary measure due to the speed legislation was approved whilst we await further guidance. Apart from the absence of a fee and some minor changes to the procedures for making a personal search everything else remains unchanged, at the present time.
Following Governments recommendations to improve the search process, you can now order specific Con29R questions through the 'Search Request Form' click on the link below to purchase individual Con 29R questions.
Appointment System
The procedures are as follows:
- Click here to complete the relevant section/s of the online search request form
- Supply a full description of the address together with an attached plan to enable accurate identification and method of payment
- Email search request form and plan to: locallandcharges@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk
- Following receipt of your email the LLC Team will prepare the personal search, once ready we will confirm when the personal search can be viewed electronically for a period of 10 days at the Customer Service Centre(CSC), Market Place, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE14 1HA
- You will be issued with:
- A reference number you will need to quote on your arrival at the CSC before access is provided
- The LLC Register will be made available to view in electronic format at the CSC
- The CSC is open Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 5.00pm, Wednesday 9.45am to 5.00pm, Thursdays 9.00am to 6.00pm
