 Landlord Overview

From the 7th April 2008 there will be major changes to Housing Benefit for tenants who make new claims or existing customers change their address in the private rented sector, with the introduction of Local Housing Allowance (LHA).

These changes will have implications on how your tenants’ rent is calculated and how the allowance will be paid.

This website aims to inform landlords of how the introduction of Local Housing Allowance will affect you by:

  • Introducing you to the Local Housing Allowance Scheme
  • Explaining how LHA works
  • Provide details on how LHA is Paid
