All enclosed public places, including pubs, bars and workplaces became smoke free throughout England from 1st July 2007.
To help you find out more about being smoke free and how it affects you, the NHS have set up a special website called www.smokefreeengland.co.uk , which aims to answer questions and give useful information about the new legislation.
All enclosed public places and all workplaces including vehicles , taxi's and minicabs have to be smoke free. All organisations are Legally required to display no-smoking signs at entrances to premises. Smoke free vehicles also need at least one prominent sign. Guidance and signage is available to download from:- www.smokefreeengland.co.uk
Do you want to give up smoking ?
If you think you are ready to go smoke free there’s no need to struggle alone. When you go smokefree, you are up to four times more likely to succeed if you use NHS support and stop smoking medicines such as patches or gum to manage your cravings.
The Smokefree website contains detailed information about the free NHS support services, and videos from real quitters talking about what worked for them.
