The Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations 1989 Number 682 require information relating to health, safety and welfare to be provided to employees by means of posters or leaflets.
All employers must display an approved health and safety law poster in a prominent position or give employees a copy of a leaflet ‘Health and Safety Law - What You Should Know’ that includes the same details.

The Regulations also require the name and address of the enforcing authority and the address of the employment medical advisory service to be written in the appropriate space on the poster; and where the leaflet is given the same information should be specified in a written notice accompanying it.
How to fill in the poster
On the left hand side enter the details of any recognised trade union and/or workplace representatives.
In the middle column enter the details of the person responsible within the organisation for co-ordinating health and safety.
