Nine community parks have been developed over the past few years in Burton and Uttoxeter. The parks have been designed in conjunction with local people for family recreation. Most sites have play areas for toddlers and older children, youth facilities (e.g. ball court/skate ramps/shelter), football pitch or kick around area. Community parks also have surfaced paths and landscaped areas. We encourage local people living near each park to join a ‘friends of’ group, which help to manage and develop the park.
The parks which have made into community parks are:
Anglesey Community Park (off Cambridge Street), Burton
Canterbury Road Community Park, Winshill
Carver Road Community Park, Burton
Eton Community Park, Burton
Hazelwalls Community Park, Uttoxeter
Heath Road Community Park, Stapenhill
Pennycroft Community Park, Uttoxeter
Uppermills Community Park (off Blackpool Street), Burton
Wheatley Lane Community Park, Winshill
