 Equality Framework for Local Government

East Staffordshire Borough Council has adopted the Equality Framework for Local Government as its framework for equalities progression.

The Equality Framework for Local Government is a tool through which progress on equality can be assessed and measured. There are three levels of achievement, ‘developing’, ‘achieving’ and ‘excellent’. East Staffordshire Borough Council has been externally assessed at the ‘achieving’ level of the Framework.

The Equality Framework for Local Government has five areas of performance:

  • Knowing your communities and equality mapping
  • Place shaping, leadership, partnership and organisational commitment
  • Community engagement and satisfaction
  • Responsive services and customer care
  • A modern and diverse workforce
