Here are 10 simple things you could do to help the environment and reduce your carbon footprint. Could you do any of these?

  1. Turn off the lights when you leave a room.
  2. Shut down computers when not in use.
  3. Turn your television off when not using it.
  4. Unplug chargers when not in use.
  5. Take shorter showers. Heating water uses energy and showers use a lot less water than a bath.
  6. Walk short distances or ride your bike instead of asking for a ride in a car.
  7. Close the blinds on a hot day if the sun is shining in. Dress lightly instead of turning up the air conditioning or use a fan to stay cool.
  8. Dress warmly inside your house when it’s cold, instead of turning up the heat.
  9. Recycle. Better still, choose products with less packaging. Reduce, reuse, and recycle!
  10. Plant a tree.

Why don't you teach some of these to your parents. Can they become more environmentally friendly?
