.Turning your heating down by one degree can save up to 10% of your energy consumption, which not only reduces your carbon emissions, but also saves money on your bills.
.Insulate your home to reduce heat loss and the need for increased energy use. You may be entitled to FREE loft and cavity wall insulation if you receive means tested benefits or are over 70. If you are under 70 and do not receive income related benefits there are still discounts available.
.Use energy-efficient light bulbs, as they last far longer than normal light bulbs and consume a 5th of the energy.
.Switch lights off when they are not being used.
.Don’t leave electrical appliances switched on or on “stand-by” unnecessarily as this wastes energy and money.

.Try to combine your journeys to reduce car use. This not only saves on carbon emissions but also on fuel costs.
.Walk or cycle. Do your bit for the environment and get fit at the same time. You don’t have to abandon your car completely, just try to make the odd journey without it!
