Work is now complete on the Tower Woods play area on the edge of Brizlincote. Contractors battled torrential rain and knee-deep mud to refurbish the play area at Tower Woods with new swings, climbing frame, roundabout and balance beams. The large multi play unit has also had a spruce up.
To improve access from Tower Road and Derwent Close, new paths have been created, eventually enabling pushchairs and people with mobility issues to use the park and enjoy the woodland.
Councillor Bernard Peters and Councillor Jake Fellows, ward members for the Brizlincote area, said: “This new play area will encourage young people and their friends to use the new equipment, supplied by East Staffordshire Borough Council, offering every opportunity for fun and exercise.”
The redevelopment of Tower Woods play area is part of East Staffordshire Borough Council’s commitment to improving play facilities across the borough. Part of a four year programme to increase the play value of our parks.
Councillor Julia Jessel, Deputy Leader for Built Environment, added: “The Council has once again listened to its community and taken steps to enhance one of its neighbourhoods. The Council is determined to increase the quality of play spaces in the borough and this is just the first of many to be completed.”
