East Staffordshire Borough Council is delighted to announce that the Council and Burton Albion Community Trust have agreed to work in partnership to improve sports development projects in East Staffordshire.
The partnership has been developed through the Community Sport and Physical Activity Network (CSPAN). East Staffordshire Borough Council and Burton Albion Community Trust will seek out additional partnership opportunities in the future as the need arises.
Both East Staffordshire Borough Council and Burton Albion Community Trust share common goals in the delivery of community based sports development projects which include, improving health and well being, increasing inclusion and participation, education and training, and to ensure an excellent service.
Councillor David Leese, Deputy Leader for Partnerships, said: “This is an innovative project and Burton Albion are the only professional football club in Staffordshire to be involved in such a bold, far reaching community venture.
“This is fantastic news for the residents in East Staffordshire and shows the Councils commitment to improving the lives of residents who live in the borough.”
Fleur Robinson, Chair of the Burton Albion Community Trust said, ‘BACT uses the brand of the football club to benefit people’s lives throughout our surrounding community. We now look forward to working together with East Staffordshire Borough Council to further expand our projects and develop new initiatives in the local area.’
